Howdy! My name is Zavie (zah-vee)
I’m a New York-based performer originally from the mountain town of Elko, Nevada (home to both the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering and National Basque Festival)! An ethereal, small town girlie with a slight caffeine addiction, there’s nothing I love more than a little adventure! In my spare time, I can be found thrifting, lounging around your local coffee shop, or listening to multi-hour long video essays on niche topics! A Taurus Sun, Virgo Moon, and Sagittarius Rising; I am both analytical and deliberate with how I go about things, yet I do what I can to approach the world with a self-assured sense of optimism!
As an artist, I am extremely multi-faceted and versatile! With a diverse body of works under my belt and an extensive background in physical theatre, I am especially interested in the involvement and development of new works. Additionally, as somebody in the industry who’s nonbinary, I am not only interested in topics related to queer theatre, but I seek to create and immerse myself in equitable spaces for trans, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming performers. I’m a fierce proponent of creating opportunities for myself and others!
